Owner and Group of files Synced between Windows and Unix
Owner and Group of files Synced between Windows and Unix
Solution
When Synchronizing files from Unix / OSX to Windows, owner and group attributes cannot be converted 1:1.
Because of that, the files are set to be owned by the local administrator account in the local administrator group on Windows.
In the opposite direction, synchronizing from Windows to Unix, the UID and GID of the target file are set to 0, so the resulting files
are owned by root in group root.
When saving files from a Unix/OSX host in Archive or Backup and restoring these files to a Windows host or vice versa, the same user/group mapping as above is applied.
