Solution In some circumstances, files restored or synchronized by PresSTORE into a running Helios volume do not show up in Macintosh Finder. Here are some of the most common causes:

Read-only volumes

Helios desk server refuses to allocate file/folder ID's for files stored on read-only volumes.

Misplaced .Desktop files

Existence of a .Desktop file in a directory usually designates it as a root of a Helios volume. PresSTORE uses this information when attempting to assign a file/folder ID to a particular file or folder. In some situations, ghost .Desktop files may exist outside of the Helios volume root's, thus impairing file/folder ID assignment and making some or all files invisible, althoguh they are correctly restored in the filesystem.
