Around 30 TB of data are managed throughout their life-cycle, from the moment of their creation through regular backups and backup replication up to long term archiving. ... no problem for PresSTORE All PresSTORE products are designed to meet the requirements of heterogeneous networks to backup and archive data in a neutral data format. Thus, each file can be stored and restored without any loss of information on any of the machines. Security for all production steps From small pin-ups to large posters – PresSTORE protects all the production steps, whether during editing or as the long-term archive after a project has been completed. PresSTORE Synchronize makes a periodic copy of odd’s production data on a second server. If the production server breaks down, each file can be accessed immediately on the “server clone”. A restore is not necessary, the downtime is minimized. At the end of a working day, PresSTORE Backup saves the day’s work automatically. Once a project has been finished, PresSTORE Archive saves the corresponding files to an off-line storage, thus freeing production space and relieving the network and the servers from additional backup time and increasing machine response to the users. Disaster prevention with PresSTORE Synchronize To protect the company’s data not only against hardware failure but also against disasters like damage by water or fire or even theft, the production data on the Sun server is mirrored on a server in a different location every three hours. Excellence in data management According to administrator Oliver Röhrig, the minimal administration is a major advantage of PresSTORE. After his experience with other data management solutions, he also appreciates the high level of user friendliness, the flexibility of PresSTORE’s different login areas and the user-triggered restore, because those features are often malfunctioning in other solutions. Quo Vadis? Since odd is focusing on state-of-the-art technologies, their existing IT infra-structure is constantly changing. This demands a great deal from their data management software. However, PresSTORE effortlessly meets the challenge. The software supports all the current hardware, file servers and operating systems. With its flexibility and scalability, expanding the network is as effortless as migrating to a new and more sophisticated hardware.
